Preventing Violence Against Women Through Raising Awareness on Gender Among University Students

This study is an intervention following the principles of pre-test and post-test models. It was conducted with students studying at Department Classroom Teaching in a university located Eastern Black Sea Region. The data were collected ‘Personal Information Form’ created by researcher ‘Attitudes toward Violence Scale’. Mean percentage used to evaluate data. mean age 22.06±1.38, 53.3% male. pre-and post-intervention ratios supporting idea that ‘Men women have same rights’ 80.0% 100%, respectively. Before intervention, while 64.3% thought ‘Violence must remain within family’, 20% them after intervention. %53.3 had ‘Trying cover up against their will violence women’, but increased 93.3% study, aiming preventing through raising awareness gender, demonstrated pre-intervention traditional views about gender changed direction egalitarian roles period.
